Rabbi Targeted in Possible Hate Crime in Miami Gardens

Miami Gardens Chabad Rabbi Kleinman’s mailbox was blown up by unidentified individuals Tuesday evening in what appears to be a hate crime.

Startled by loud explosions, the Rabbi walked outside his residence to find his mailbox missing. He soon realized it has been blow to pieces by some kind of explosives, possibly fireworks.

While Rabbi Kleinman voiced his home that the incident was nothing more than kids pulling a prank, the home’s address is listed as the address for his synagogue, leading to speculation that it was targeted for a hate crime. Miami Gardens Police stated that the incident does not appear to be a hate crime and are looking for information from the public to identify those

Antisemitic hate crime is surging across both nationally and internationally. According to the Anti-Defamation League, there were 183 antisemitic incidents in Florida from 2020-2021.
