In a groundbreaking virtual meeting today, representatives from India, Israel, the UAE, and the United States unveiled the I2U2 partnership, a collaborative initiative aimed at addressing global challenges, promoting regional integration, and identifying bankable projects.
The meeting began with a discussion about the launch of the I2U2 Pro website. This innovative platform invites the private sector to submit project proposals across a myriad of fields, including food security, water, energy, transportation, space, health, and technology. A notable example of such a project is the Israeli Initiative for Joint Space venture, which will harness space-based tools developed by the satellite capabilities of the I2U2 group.
Director-General Ronen Levi highlighted that the “website is an important platform for the private sectors, which enables companies to submit project proposals in dimension fields. Increases the ability to share new technologies and create economic collaboration between the foreign nations.”
The group then introduced the “I2U2 Private Enterprise Partnership” a new public-private collaboration between the U.S. Department of State and three business councils: the U.S-UAE Business Council, the UAE-India Business Council, and the UAE-Israel Business Council. This partnership aims to foster collaboration among business communities from the four countries in seven pivotal sectors, including infrastructure technologies and regional connectivity.
The I2U2 initiative underscores the importance of building sustainable economic cooperation between the four nations. By leveraging public-private partnerships, the countries aim to achieve shared aspirations, such as enhancing supply chain resilience, bolstering critical infrastructure, and driving technological advancements. The leaders extended an invitation to private sector stakeholders, both large and small, to join this transformative journey via two digital platforms.
Minister of State to the United Arab Emirates Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh stated:
“More broadly, this collaborative spirit between India, Israel and the United States and the United Arab Emirates is without question grounded in a shared desire to drastically improve lives, boost economic growth and bluster our collective defenses against the issues of tomorrow.
Our continued efforts to build sustainable economic cooperation and to nurture public-private partnership will be instrumental in realizing our common aspirations of developing supply chain resilience, critical infrastructure and technological enhancements for the greater good of the international community.”
The commitment to collaboration was a recurring theme throughout the meeting. All speakers emphasized their dedication to mobilizing private sector capital and expertise to modernize infrastructure, decarbonize industries, enhance public health, and strengthen collective defenses against future challenges. The shared sentiment was a desire to significantly improve lives and stimulate economic growth through a collaborative spirit rooted in shared values and common goals.
The event culminated in a signing ceremony, marking the official establishment of the I2U2 partnership. The MOU was signed by Danny Sebright, President of the US-UAE Business Council; Faizal Kottikollon, Chairman of the UAE-India Business Council; Dorian Barak, co-founder of the U-Israel Business Council; and Undersecretary Jose W. Fernandez of the United States Department of State. Their signatures symbolize the leadership, vision, and support that will drive this initiative forward.
